Editorial Policy

This page explains who prepares the informational content on dtaycan.com.tr (treatment pages and guide articles), which sources it relies on, and how an incorrect or outdated piece of information can be corrected.

1. Who writes and medically reviews the content?

All treatment and guide content on this site is written by Dt. Aycan Işık Taş. As she is also the sole author and a practising dentist, the medical accuracy check is carried out by her before publication; there is no separate author/reviewer team. The author's name, the publication date and, where applicable, the last update date are shown visibly at the bottom of every guide article.

2. Source selection criteria

When preparing content, the order of priority is: (1) official/professional sources such as the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Health and the Turkish Dental Association, (2) peer-reviewed/institutional sources such as the World Health Organization and international professional associations in the field (e.g. the American Dental Association, the European Federation of Periodontology, Cochrane, NICE), (3) the dentist's own clinical experience. The sources used are listed with links at the end of every guide article. Language implying a guaranteed outcome or claims such as "the best" is not used; recommendations are presented as general information and probabilities, and an individual diagnosis and treatment decision can only be made after an examination.

3. Update and correction policy

Clinical practice and regulations can change over time, so guide articles are reviewed when needed and the update date is shown visibly on the page. If you think a piece of information is incorrect, incomplete or out of date, you can write to info@dtaycan.com.tr; reports are reviewed and, where necessary, the content is corrected and the update date is refreshed. Corrections are made to the existing article; content is not silently deleted or its subject changed.

4. Limitations

The information on this site is for general guidance only; it does not replace a dental examination, diagnosis or an individual treatment plan. In an emergency, please contact the nearest healthcare facility.
